The Narcissistic Abuse Survivor Support Project
Connecting survivors of narcissistic abuse worldwide with professionals who understand the dynamics, recognize the impact, and know how to help without causing further harm.
As a therapist and coach, one of the things I hear most often from survivors of narcissistic abuse is how difficult it is to find professionals who truly understand the dynamics of psychological manipulation, coercive control, and post-separation abuse.
And, unfortunately, working with someone who doesn't understand these dynamics can sometimes cause even more harm.
This project is an effort to change that.
With your help, I'm building a worldwide directory of mental health professionals, attorneys, family court professionals, advocates, and other relevant providers who bring specialized knowledge, meaningful experience, and a nuanced understanding of narcissistic abuse to their work with survivors.
The goal isn't to guarantee that every professional listed will be the right fit—it would be impossible to “vet” every professional listed. (I wish I could!)
The goal is to give survivors a better starting point than yet another exhausting Google search that just leaves them feeling
even more discouraged.
WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS TO ME
Hi, I’m Sam. I’m a therapist in Pennsylvania and global coach who specializes in narcissistic abuse.
I’m also a survivor of it.
And I can tell you from both sides of that experience that the damage almost always doesn't stop when the abuse does. Sometimes, it continues in the very places survivors turn to for help.
Well-meaning therapists who miss the coercive control. Attorneys who mistake manipulation for ordinary relationship conflict. Professionals who don't recognize what's happening until the survivor has already paid the price, emotionally, financially, or both.
I wish this directory had existed when I needed it. Because navigating narcissistic abuse is hard enough without having to figure out which professionals actually understand it through expensive, exhausting, and sometimes retraumatizing trial and error.
Now, I hear from survivors all over the world who are facing that exact same struggle. From Pennsylvania to Scotland to Australia and everywhere in between. My therapy license limits me to working with clients located in Pennsylvania, and as much as I'd love to, I simply can't accommodate every coaching inquiry I receive—because the need is enormous.
But geography and the capacity of any one professional shouldn't determine whether survivors can find meaningful support. And that's exactly why I want this project to reach far beyond the people I'm personally able to help.
